follow me in my quest to be completely alone and bear witness to my solitude through your own being. we march together forward whether we like it or not.

(Don Cherry is a former NHL coach and long-time hockey commentator. He is known for being a redneck, fight-loving, right-winger. This poem was inspired by a commercial I saw where he is asking people to donate for troops in Afghanistan. Swiss Chalet is a famous Canuck restaurant and double-double refers to Tim Horton's Coffee, another company he has shilled for. He shoots he scores is a famous hockey saying by announcer Foster Hewitt, turned around to represent the soldier and media star)

12-04 (Don Cherry)

I fight for Don Cherry
Sweating Brut by Faberge
Charging the line
To put gas in his Cadillac
His freedom fighter
The gloves come off
Dying for his double-double
Suppers in the Swiss Chalet
Alone in the sand
For his frozen dreams

He shoots

He scores
